Boot brands and ranges
Meindl, Lowa, Scarpa and Salomon line-ups explained, so you can pick the right model within each range.
Each maker has its own lasts and naming. Meindl's MFS system moulds the ankle padding to your foot; Lowa's Renegade and Camino cover fabric and leather all-rounders; Scarpa's ranges run from light trekking boots to B2 mountain boots.
Within a range, a suffix such as GTX (Gore-Tex), Mid, Lady or Ws (women's) changes the boot more than the headline name suggests.
